Introduction to SLAS@HOME
In the event of a school closure during normal term time, St Luke’s Anglican School will move towards a distance / online learning program. The following information outlines how this program will be delivered and actioned. This plan will be regularly reviewed to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the community.
Guidelines
In the event that the School is to be closed, please note the following points below in regards to our whole school distance learning plan:
The aim during a school closure is to ensure learning continues. Teachers will provide materials, continue to correspond with parents and students, provide feedback on work completed and help to address any questions about the material provided. Pastoral care is a high priority for the School and will remain a priority.
School Closure Timeline
In the event that school is closed for a limited period of time:
If the School is not closed but individual students cannot attend school (due to self-isolation or a positive test that Public Health deems does not require a school closure):

In the event that the School is to be closed, please note the following points below in regards to our whole school distance learning plan:
- Correspondence will be sent to the entire community by the Principal.
- Correspondence will be sent to parents from the respective Head of School outlining the way learning will continue during the School closure.
- Correspondence will then continue from the classroom teacher (Primary) and subject teachers (Middle and Senior) throughout the duration of the closure.

School Closure Timeline
In the event that school is closed for a limited period of time:
- Students are asked to read and understand the Roles and Responsibilities for Students and prepare their home working area;
- Parents are encouraged to read the Roles and Responsibilities for Parents, and assist their child/ren to prepare for learning at home;
If the School is not closed but individual students cannot attend school (due to self-isolation or a positive test that Public Health deems does not require a school closure):
- The family will contact the School and note a potential return date.
- The Head of Primary and classroom teacher or the Head of Middle School and Head of Senior School and Pastoral Care teacher will communicate with teachers and classroom teachers will be in regular contact with the family, providing work for the student to complete. The manner in which this work is communicated and completed will depend on the age of the student - please refer to the Head of Primary, Head of Middle or Head of Senior School guidelines.
